My White blood cell count came back at 16,000 when its supposed to be at the highest 10,000 what could that mean?

Report as

That is a High white blood cell count which means that you have a condition such as prednisone. A count of 16,000 could signal infection, but is also completely normal if you are using steroids.

This usually indicates infection. The Proportional breakdown of the white blood cells(WBC), called the differential will give more indication as to cause-- be it viral, bacterial or sometimes even stress or allergic reactions.
