What are some potted outdoor plants that require little maintenance and would grow well in Charlotte, NC?
Looking for something pretty!
Succulents are a good idea, and jade plants (Crassula ovata ) are particularly easy to grow, plus they have flowers, which can be pretty. You might also like to try growing some other plants native to North Carolina, and I'm sure some of these will do perfectly well in pots. The North Carolina Native Plant Society has a listing of plants with photographs: http://www.ncwildflower.org/index.php/plants/listings/of/a/. This site also has recommendations (http://www.ncwildflower.org/natives/recommend.htm).
A great choice for a low-maintenance, outdoor potted plant that will grow well in Charlotte, NC is any of the succulent family. Examples of plants in this group are aloe, palms, cycads, and Bursera.
