What to use for chimney clean out door insulation? Mine is old & odd size (7x7 opening). Needs sealing, but also available to open & clean.

Door ok but fit is not tight and draft is causing problems (even water/soot mix leakage turning my lower bricks black.) Chimney is ok (has been cleaned twice this season.)

You can purchase a set of chimney rods and brushes from a nearby store and use them to clean your chimney easily. Change into some old attire and ware some dust mask and safety goggles to ensure that you don't get any infections from the dirt.
