How can i play with a hermit crab?

I just got a hermit crab now i think I'm gonna regret it because it is really boring please tell me something fun please also i can't just replace it with a gecko like i really want. I bought a million things for it which was kinda $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ the stuff i could use for a gecko but I'm not getting rid of the hermit crabs 1 is mine one is my brothers he got it for his birthday. So 2 choices tell me how long a hermit crab lives or how i can play with him.

The ages vary but if u take a toothpick and gently put it in the shell the hermit crab will grab it and u can play tug-a-war

Yes if u put it in the shell they will grab it and u just start to GENTLY pull it out I do it with my hermit crabs all the time
