What does blood in sperm mean for a male

i am 47 year old male with bloody sperm

Do you masturbate more than 3 times a day? Have you been recently hit in the groin? Do you bicycle or ride a motorcycle alot? Biking is more damaging. Any of these activities can cause bloody semen. Some types of diseases and cancers can also. Something you can try is doing a self examination much the way a woman does for her breasts.

C'mon man! How in God's name did you get the idea that masturbating more than 3 times a day will cause blood in semen??!! As far as those other activities I find your answer equally dubious.

Jeb, do you see the padded crotches on bike shorts? The reason is to prevent the bike seat and the long periods of time spent on one from sitting on the bicycle seat may result in the compression of nerves and blood vessels of the vulnerable area of the body called the perineum. The perineum is the area between the anus and the base of the penis in males and between the anus and the vagina in females; it contains both blood vessels and nerves.
Masturbation to excess can cause damage as well, pretty obvious if you think about how the act is done. A motorcycle with a bad seat or a poorly maintained seat can be almost as bad as a bike.

Thank you for your comment. I believe you have enlightened me on everything except the masturbation scenario. If there is any hint of truth in that at all I should have been dead a long time ago!

Looking at your comment with humor, I have to ask: Just what do you think the males are actually DOING that is "pretty obvious" in their methods of masturbation?? I guess MY methods have been pretty routine, my mind boggles and my imagination stretches too far to visualize what other males have been doing to themselves to cause blood to appear in their semen!!

Generally you grab hold, squeeze and yank up and down changing angles to increase or decrease stimulation. This on an organ that's mostly hollow and filled with small blood vessels. You gotta admit there is the potential for damage there. Not to mention all the other odd things guys can do, Apple pie any one?

I found this site that might help. I would definitely say that you should call your doctor though. http://www.medicinenet.com/blood_in_semen/article.htm

I'm not a doctor, but it doesn't take one to know that this is NOT A GOOD SIGN! My guess? Possible prostate cancer. SEE DOCTOR ASAP!
