What's cycling as a hockey term (read details)

I'm probably starting hockey nxt year and idk what cycling is? I think it's like subbing in and out but I'm not for sure please help!

Cycling in hockey is a term that is used to refer to a strategy of defense. This is when the player protects and moves the puck in the offensive zones along the boards. It is when a defender tries to get rid of the puck from one of the team members.
