Ok, you'll get lots of new movies suggestions from the younger crowd, but here are some older good ones: Young Frankenstein, Victor/Victoria, Some Like it Hot, Mrs. Doubtfire, All of me, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Uncle Buck, Overboard, Short Circuit, Splash, Harry & The Hendersons, The Replacements, Airplane, Hot Shots
The Other Guys, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, Kevin Hart-Seriously Funny (funniest man on the planet), Hot Fuzz, Shawn of the Dead, Dave Chapelle Show, Gabriel Iglesias, The Hangover I & II, Step Brothers, Dodgeball, Borat, Talladega Nights, Grown Ups, Rush Hour I, II, & III, Harold & Kumar Movies, , and soon: 21 Jump Street & Project X! HAVE FUN!
Step Brothers is stupid, but in a funny, hilarious way. It's a must-see. Two good comedies that are also heartfelt (and don't worry, they aren't chick flicks) are Dan in Real Life and Little Miss Sunshine, both of which are hilarious but have an awesome plot and message. A good classic is Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
Find a comedian that you like and go from there. If you think you like Jim Carey watch Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber, and Liar Liar. If you like Adam Sandler watch Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore. Some other favorite funny movies are Office Space, Big Lebowski, Ghostbusters. There are lots of very funny tv series as well; Arrested Development, Ali G Show, Seinfeld, South Park. Just find something you like and dig into it a bit and it should lead you to more of the same. Hope that helps.
