The question is about rabies, not fear of water.

If it is associated with a rabies infection, there is no cure. After symptoms of rabies are felt, there is almost no chance of survival. Death rates are near 99.9 percent after symptoms have shown themselves.

Rabies can be prevented thru vaccination, but if contracted it cannot be cured. That's why vaccination must be done immediately after being bitten by a suspected rabid animal, so the immunity can develop before the virus begins to reproduce within the body.
