California Water Shortage: Sprinklers spray large amount on parked cars. Why not law facing water away from wetting streets and cars ?

Not only wasting water...it is maddening getting our parked cars soaked !

As a landscaper I try to keep the sprinkler heads adjusted so that doesn't happen. But heads get out of adjustment and people mess with them and kick them mowers hit them and I usually don't have time to check them but once a month.

It should be gardeners responsibility to keep them in check...and this would happen if homeowners and apartment owners got notices then fines if no comply. In So. California we have water shortage and regulations of days/hours we can water lawns etc. This should be part of that...as so much water is wasted by this and it causes us to have to get our cars washed more often...which is more water waste and maddening when your clean car is all water spotted. Not to mention the frequent car wash expense to the car owner. This problem should be addressed if only for the water waste it causes...hey, we are having a drought here and overlooking this blatant waste.

Maybe the sprinkler head manufacturers need to work on a better and more exact aiming system.

Hell I wish they would take them out all together save me work and let Cal. turn back into the desert it once was.

Plans are underway for setting designated locations for car wash services that are away from the parking lots. This way other cars will not be soaked. Again it depends on the source of the water for it to be used in large or small quantities.

I am talking about cars parked on streets that get sprayed by lawn watering. Not only wasting water but soaking and water spotting cars. Nothing to do w/car washes. Lawn sprinklers should be required to spray lawns, not streets and parked cars. It should be water conservation law. (sprinkler head spray/aim regulation.
Thanx though.
