When I charge my iPod touch 4gen and use it at the same time it gets hot read info for more

it get hot mostly on the top and a little hot on the bottom the top gets so hot I put a cool cloth on it but not very very hot but you know

My iPhone did the same thing when I was using a power adapter that was not the one that came with my iPhone. If your using a charger that may not be properly rated for what ur charging it could cause ur heating issue

Your basically working the battery and processor double. No harm should come from doing it. Just don't do it all the time. My 3GS is the same way

Ok thanks but will it drain out my battery like when you leave you iPod out in the sun and it gets hot that happened with my last iPod touch and the battery drained in like 30min on full charge

When you charge your iPod and use it at the same time it's using double energy, when you charge it suggest you don't use it until it's full and then unplug otherwise your iPod will lost battery faster than it should

Same problem take off more stuff use less battery less heat

It says in the online support that it is normal for the iPod to give off heat during charging or heavy processor use. It's designed to give off heat safely that way.

Exactly! The iPod's heat sinks are at the top.
