Putting foil on your antenna WILL increase your reception. My dad started using foil from cigarette packs before foil ever came out! The foil from the packs aren't near as effective though. Another thing that does work is take a piece of wire, coated wire, real thin like speaker wire, and attach it to the reception receiver on the back of the tv, and put the other end on your window screen. That works great as long as it is the real metal type screens. These new screens are more cloth like now days. You can also put a nail up high on the wall near the ceiling and connect the other end of the wire to the nail instead of the screen. If you stand at the tv, and hold a piece of the antenna you can more from one side of the tv to the other, and the more you move the better reception you will find then you will know where to put your nail. I was raised with foil, an antenna booster you used to be able to buy from Sears, and use of an outside tv antenna, which we had to go out and turn by hand until dad said stop to get the best reception.
