What you need to do first is connect the printer to the wireless router using usb cable and switch on the Printer. Install the printer drivers on all computers that need to access the printer. With each computer open the Start Menu, on the control panel button, click on printer, right click on your Printer Icon and click on Properties, click on the Ports tab, remove the tick from the enable bidirectional support box, click on add port, highlight Standard TCP/IP Port, and click on new port, click on Next, give in the IP for your Router, the port name will be filled out automatically, click on Next. Vista will detect your printer; if it fails, click on Custom in the new window and then on settings, then in the new window check that raw and port number 9100 is selected. Now click OK, Next, Finish, Close, Apply and Close.
To get your wireless printer to work with your router, you will need to connect the printer to the router temporarily with an ethernet cable. Press the WiFi Protected Setup (WPS) button on your new router. Press and hold until a blinking light appears on the button. This button is located on Netscape on the left hand side, middle of the router. Then go to your printer and press and hold the wireless button until the wireless light starts blinking.
