I have several tats & have always used vaseline, but now they're saying it "smears" the tattoo-the best thing to do is call several tattoo shops and go with what the majority say. I WILL say that vaseline has not hurt MY tats!
Ive heard the opposite John. Not saying you're wrong, but just the opposite is what I do for mine and I recommend A&D for at least a few days, then Vaseline/ Mild fragrance free lotion to all my clients... FYI I don't work out of a shop, so don't take my word for it i guess... But the only tat I had done at a shop was my worst, and was given NO after care instructions.... (My Dad SWEARS by "bacitracin." He has a lot of tats and have held well over the years... Hope this was helpful!
I'm 16 and got a new tattoo on my wrist saying mum, because she means the absolute world to me, anyways as I was saying I have a tattoo and I applied vaseline on it as I had to ointment cream, I wouldn't recommend to use it as over night my ink ran all up my arm, but still in good condition, I'd try safe creams such as savlon and sudocrem, type of soft creams you would use for your babys (if you have a baby) hope you find this helpful:)
Never use Vaseline, I just had my first tat and used vaseline after 2 hrs and then I tried to wipe plamsa ..All the ink was in my tissue paper. Fuck vaseline. Can use after 3-4 days, I guess. I'm using Aloe vera gel instead.
