Who gets a harder job doctors or nurses?

Report as

It's the nurses - especially those who work in the ER. I remember going in there once and mom and I listened to this drunk guy who kept cursing at them and trying to take the IV out.

The nurses don't get as much respect as the doctors. When I go see the doctor, I spend more time with the nurses - reception, checking me in for the appointment (blood pressure, temperature, etc) and yet the doctors usually just have to have a short chat and jot down a few notes.

The nurses put up with all the bs some people give them.

Nurses r paid less, in calif. Lvn's approx. $20.00 to $25.00 per hr.
RN's r paid $30.00 to $38.00 a hr
All depending on area of expertise.
Nurses work quite a bit harder than md's

I think it's doctors.Doctors have harder jobs because they check patients life.If doctors are careless,it can cause patients to get more sick.Being a nurse is easy because they follow what the doctors said.

Ur wrong Md's make mistakes all the time. Ur nurse is ur lifeline after surgeries etc.

A nurse practitioner can.

Nurses do the majority of the work. All the doctor has to do is say "do this at this time" and the nurse has to do all of that work. A doctor can't help a patient when the paperwork hasn't been filed correctly and the doctor doesn't even always look at the paperwork but the nurses work harder than the doctors to keep everything running.

both occupations have their stresses, but it is the doctor who must take the heat if things go wrong. Cutie, I'll give ya green thumb for that answer

Nurses do the scheduling, makes sure the patient has had the proper tests before an appointment, make sure the supplies are available, they care for the patient before and after surgery and respond independently in an emergency until an MD arrives.

Nurses bust their hineys.

Nurses who have To put up with crazy doctors and even crazier patients and families for hours on end. I know, I'm a nurse who has had to cover for lazy docs.
