Imagine you were given a million dollars (isn't that a nice little dream?) - imagine you going through that million dollars very quickly and being unable to replace it. If you are unable to support yourself, don't understand the meaning of getting where you are on your own two feet, then you don't appreciate what you have. You have nothing to fall back on and are unable to start over again (and even millionaires have to start over occasionally). When you know that you can make money, you know that with some hard work you can always bounce back - then you have confidence in yourself and are willing to take chances that will pay off in the end.
Self-esteem can be defined as the value we place on ourselves. It is the sense and feeling we have about all the things we see ourselves to be and the knowledge that we are lovable, we are capable, and we are unique. Both the elderly and children benefit from good relationships, experiences and positive thinking.
