One great recipe I found for carp bait has worked great for me so far. Mix 3 cups of yellow corn meal, 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, 3 tablespoons of syrup and 1 1/2 cups of water in a bowl until you can form small balls out of it. Drop the balls into boiling water until they begin to float and the remove them and lay hem on a towel. Let them cool sightly then mash them together with the towel to form balls the size of a baseball. Wrap them in aluminum foil until you are ready to fish and then bait your hook with them. Carp are attracted to sweet smell so as your bait starts to melt it will leave a sweet sense that the carp will follow.
