In order to know how many calories you need to loose weight you will need to determine the number of calories your body burns a day. Once you know that you should eat about 500 calories less a day than you burn. It is recommended that you don't cut your calorie intake down to less than 1200 calories per day. To lose weight you need to reduce the amount of calories you eat on a daily basis. Most women lose weight on 1200 calories per day. Most men can lose weight on 1500-1600 calories per day.
