If i am terminated for missing too many days, can i qualify for unemployment?

If i am terminated for missing too many days, can i still qualify for unemployment? We have 4.5 days to use a yr, plus 3 wellness days. After they are used, you cannot miss anymore without being fired. I've used the wellness, and half of the 4.5, because of my health and some for my sick grandchild.

When you apply for unemployment, they will ask you why, you were terminated from your job. Being let go because of absences, will usually disqualify a person from unemployment. Every circumstance is different and you can always do an appeal. Your health could be a factor, when trying to receive unemployment.

I believe you may still be able to draw unemployment, however there may be a penalty waiting time period.

None of the people here can give you the answer. The best approach would be going to the unemployment benefits center and filling an application. Explain your circumstances thoroughly, show proof - notes from the doctor, excuse slips, receipts for co-payments - anything you have. You can always fight the decision they have made. Although it is 50/50 chance.

In my state you can collect unemployment in 1 week if you are laid off, and 6 weeks if you quit or got fired.
