Why have people stopped talking about Hydro Fracking?

I know there is no way the gas companies have stopped doing it b-cuz there is money to be made and they are greedy. So why have I not heard anything about this recently?

Hi, Nate. They (1%) don't want us to know anything about anything. Do you expect them to tell you Monsanto's GMO crops may be harmful? Or that soil tainted with their Round Up may cause mental problems and ADHD? Do they want us to know that the BP leak is ongoing, and with billions in profits they are delaying settlements? Or that going to war with Iran is only about keeping their war machine profitable? Or that Obama wants to slash many low income programs, like Section 8 housing, by 50% in 2013. Why should we be aware that Obama criticized the environmentally dangerous 1,700 mile Keystone tar sands pipeline project; only to do an about face a week later and enthusiastically approve a smaller section in the Midwest that will raise the price of our oil as it goes down to the gulf and straight to China. Do you think the 1% wants us to know they are hanging us out to dry in every possible way because there are a billion potential new Chinese customers to gouge? Whenever there is a leak, it is quickly stifled with other fluff, like making the Rush Limbaugh rant newsworthy, to distract us from real issues. No. I am already pissed off enough about the horrible state of things. If I were to learn more about the backdoor dealings going on, I might just have to go on a killing spree!!! If this country is really "For the people, by the people" then what exactly would it take for us to rise up and slay this greedy beast that is in control? SEE, I'm so pissed that I'm not even making any sense!!!!

Nate. You are not the only one with high blood pressure. Only non-violent protest will work, like the civil rights movement. You could self-immolate on the White House lawn, with fellow protesters roasting marshmallows on your smoldering bones, and nothing would change. Don't give up. Don't shut up!

Perhaps the debate has somewhat cooled over the last few months but this doesn't mean that people support it. A judge in a recent ruling gave towns the right to decide whether to allow hydrofracking, which in effect gives people the power to deny permission to the companies.

Well that's a step in the right direction, but it always seems these companies find a way to do what they want anyways. Thanks for answering :)
