How do the NFL Playoffs Work

The NFL playoffs work on a system where the champion team of each division gets an automatic spot in the playoffs. The playoff matches are based on seedings, the top seed of each pairing gets home field advantage. In each league the division winners plus 2 wild card teams make the playoffs. The two teams with the best record have a bye in the first round. Games are played at the home site of the team with the best record. Winners from both conferences advance to the Super Bowl.
