Is it safe for a diabetic to eat raw oysters?
I went to a party at an oyster bar. I had a good time, drank no alcohol, ate a small roll with butter and consumed 2 dozen raw oysters. I felt fine and could have eaten a dozen more. My blood sugar was 243, 2 hours later. Why did this happen? I thought oysters were protein, not carbs. I'm still learning about managing type 2 diabetes with diet and exercise alone. Any help would be appreciated.
