The term 'emo' has two different meanings: 1; Emo stands for "Emotive Hardcore" and is a sub-genre of punk. 2; To describe a group that teens say is short for 'emotional' but the term came from the music of punk, heavy metal and rock. The music usually has meaningful lyrics that express deep feelings about love or depression. The people also like to express themselves through their music and feelings; mostly wearing dark coloured clothing such as black, red, purple, grey or blue. They tend to wear eye make up and have jagged hair cuts. Emo is a label that people give themselves as being ampathetic/misruble, feeling different and misunderstood. Some may cut themselves to express their feelings on a different level, as NOT ALL EMOS HARM THEMSELVES, because most people like to accuse all emos as self harmers. Some people get the meaning of "emo" and "scene" mixed up. An eaay way to remember is that scenes usually are more colourful than emos and are described as 'colourful goths', and express themselves differently (their mood and aspects are different)
The term emo is slang for emotional. It was created for the early 2000s punk and rock bands that sang about how horrible their lives were. Or, they would make prophetic attempts sing love songs that never really impressed anyone.
