That's right. There has been a lot od controversy about how Hank Williams died.
I guess, to a certain extent, it had to do with Heart Failure, but there were other factors also. Hank lived a very rough life, a lot of it brought on by himself, and he just went as far as he could go.
When he left Alabama that day and headed for Canton, Ohio, he was living the kind of life he always lived. Drinking, Taking pills, stopping in hotels with women and living it up as always. He had gotten a young man by the name of Charles Carr to shofar him to Canton.
Hank did not die in Oak Hill, WV. That is where he was discovered dead but he died before Charles Carr arrived in Oak Hill, WV. When Hank was taken to the Oak Hill Hospital, the doctor said he had been dead for a while. So, it was never known the exact time and place that he died. But, he didn't die in Oak Hill, WV.
The writer above said Hank died on January 1, 1953. I believe it was still 1952 when Hank died. I believe Hank died before the clock hands reached the stroke of midnight of 1953. Which would have been still 1952 when he died.
