What does that mean if you just see white sparkles out of nowhere?

Report as

I also see those. I had a photograph done professionally. One of the sparkles was captured in the photograph. I have always concluded, not scientific, that I was seeing angels.

It means your retina has been detached. It's perfectly normal it's happens to me occasionally.

I wouldn't say it's "normal," but depending on the severity, you are in very little danger. I would schedule an appointment with your optometrist as soon as possible, just to err on the side of caution. Good luck!

You could be getting a migraine. Right before I get one I see little white lights. If i take medicine as soon as i see them i can head them off about 80% of the time.

You should see an opthamologist... If your retina detaches you'll go blind... It may be signs of macular degeneration too, either way you should see an opthamologist to be safe.

This came from an Optometrist.
You could be describing symptoms of a retinal detachment, which is very serious but often correctable if caught early enough. Call an eye doctors office and explain what you are experiencing. They should get you in to be seen today, if not keep calling until you find someone that will.

You could just be getting light-headed or dizzy. If the eye doc says you are fine, you could get your blood sugar checked. I would also make sure you are well hydrated.

I don't have an answer for you. But I did want to say that I have been seeing sparkles that dance around millions and millions of them along with a grayish outline of something thats shape can not be described.I have tried A MILLION times to explain it but you just simply can not.Anyways I have seen this everyday of my life for as long as I can remember.I can not see them in the dark or in really dull rooms. But like in front of the tv and computer screen and if sunlight is shining through a window i will see them all around. Also really well lit rooms with no windows still see them.So technically I see them in the light.Outside in the daylight they are EVERYWHERE!And it seems to me like the grayish outline and the sparkles are of one thing But are different at the same time. Really hard to explain and occasionally something a little different happens and even Brighter sparkles that move differently from the ones I see everyday appear out of nowhere and fall around me and then disappear. And that happens randomly. I DUNNO?? But I will spend the rest of my life trying to find out what this is!!!

Do the sparkles you see seem to orbit in a circular pattern and seem to dissappear? which it totally different from seeing stars when you blow you're nose sneeze or get punched in the face.
