What book is based off of H.G.Wells "The Island of doctor Monroe"?

I read this book when I was younger,and it was about this island where they were turning people into animals. One girl turned into a manta ray. But I can't remember the title worth my life

The Island Of Doctor Monroe was a book written by H.G. Wells. Some of the books that are somewhat similar to Island Of Doctor include Bacchae by Euripides and Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. Monroe's other great books include The Time Machine, The Invisible Man and The War of the Worlds.
