We once took a month and drove a circle from San Francisco thru to Texas, north to Wyoming, backtracked to hit southern Nevada & Colorado, across Montana to the Washington coast and back down to San Francisco....all of it was on back roads and WOW, did we ever see some beautiful country....every part of it I would consider a great vacation place. I hope to do this again soon but this time in an RV.
Ive traveled through Europe and been all over the US, Mexico, Canada... Hawaii, Cabo-Mexico, Nice and Venice-Italy, Germany, and The whole California coast - Are all BEAUTIFUL places to go with lots of history to see... But my Favorite place was FIJI- wonderful people, tons of places to explore: Rivers and Islands, or you can just relax on the beaches.
Really depends on the Vacation you like. I personally love relaxing on the beaches... my husband prefers skiing in the mountains.
A fun vacation starts in the your head... So you can have fun in your back yard, but I recommend the Dominic Republic - a nice and friendly tropical Island: has all the water and beach activities, zip lining, sun shine, and drinks. Very inexpensive compared to a lot of places.
Kauai! We always stay with Kauai Vacation Rentals. They have the most awesome places. And, in the best locations. I love the beach, the sunsets, the surfing, the weather, the Mai Thai's (gotta have those!) and the relaxed atmosphere of the island. Check out these places you will fall in love. http://bit.ly/nQnSjN
I loved Tahiti! I went there about 4 years ago on my Honeymoon, staying in an Overwater Motu at the Intercontinental Resort. The resort features a swimming pool where you can swim with live stingrays, or just jump direct of the deck of the Motu into the ocean for some great snorkelling. While there the resort also offers jetskiiing, which took us out through a major surfing competition and also up close to Humpback Whales. A day trip to nearby Moorea Island is also a great suggestion. Yu'd be surprised that it's not as expensive as everyone thinks. I booked through http://www.hotels.international-accommodation.com/ which offer great deals.
