How does my dad get custody of me when he is several states away?

My mom and dad are divorcing and he is going to go strait to NC so he can quickly buy a small tailor. I heard that i can get a layer for free who would help dad get custody of me but if he is in NC and im in PA how would he get custody of me?

basically your lawyer will ask you what your feelings are what you want who you want to live with & when it comes to the case being in court or mediation they go in & push for what you want. if you want to live with your dad & its agreed then you move with him. my daughter had one last year & hers refused to sign off anything my x asked for as he was asking not in the best interests for my daughter, so maybe sit down & think what you want in your life do you want to move etc & go from there. with you having a lawyer you may never have to step foot into a court room best of luck.

when your parents go to court to get the divorce the judge will usually take into account who you want to live with. talk to your mom and her lawyer and tell them what you want to do. Her lawyer should be able to help. If that doesn't work tell your dad you would rather stay with your mom. Hang in there man divorces are tough.
