Do stimulants help speed up your metabolism?

Alright so I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy and Cataplexy last month and my psychiatrist prescribed a stimulant to help me stay away during the day. The stimulant has a side effect of speeding up my heart rate so I was wondering is it adding to my metabolism? (I've also been working out and dieting a lot better. This was kind of a wake up call for me)

But they do put stress on ur heart and if u use it to long it lead to heart failure overtime.

Well I'm not saying my heart rate is TOO fast. It just makes my resting heart rate a bit higher, I've been careful about not pushing myself too far while working out.
