If I have a 8 GB jumpdrive, why does it only show as 3.81 when I plug it into my computer?

Try emptying your trash can. Hard drives hold in the memory of whatever you throw away.

Thank you, but I was looking at the total amount, not the amount I have left.
Also, I have a 8GB Toshiba hard drive. I have it plugged in and it is showing that I have 1.76 GB.
I wonder if I have to set it up some way that would give me the full 8 GB.

It might be how much memory you have already used or how much you have left
