Does eating an entire pickle count as a serving of vegetables for the day?

Since you are essentially eating a whole cucumber?

If I ate one blueberry, would it count for my fruit serving? NO. The thing with servings is you eat different foods in substantial amounts. It's called "food is delicious and varied, therefore I will eat it."

Thank you; I was just curious. I plan my meals every day to make sure that I eat enough fruit and veggies. I prepare fresh fruit, salad and raw veggies as snacks during the day. I was making a sandwich for work tomorrow and thought I'd pack some pickles. I was just curious if I could count it as one serving. I certainly realize that it cannot be my one source of veggies. Maybe just one serving occasionally.

It should, but remember pickles contain high quantities of salt which is not good for you. I would try and find another vegetable to eat.
