In the fifties, girls wore pony skirts, saddle shoes, pilot blouses, penny loafers and dresses. Other clothing that can be recalled include: pedal pushers, white shirts, sweater sets, bobby sox and sunglasses. Blouses with circle pins at the top were also common.
Something called a "poodle skirt " was popular. You can google it for a picture. They also would wear a short sleeve (t shirt style) sweater with an open cardigan over it. They would wear "bobby" socks which were ankle socks but heavier. Their shoes were saddle shoes. Ponytails were very popular. Have fun!
