You need to ensure that you open few windows so as to minimize the amount of dust coming from outside. Then, you can install air filters or purifiers to remove airborne dust particles that are floating in the air when cleaning. During cleaning, you should ensure that you dust the ceiling and the corners to avoid more dust falling down from these places.
Try to prevent the direct air entry in your house. For this close the doors always use AC's which filter the air and freshens it. For direct sunlight use thick glass tops and use vaccuum cleaners, and air filters.
with a rag, straight, cold (from fridge) vegetable oil. i live on a 100% dirt piece if property, in the boonies, too far to run to a store for dusting polish. so thats what i used one day to dust all my furniture....cold vegetable oil, my house was soooo shiny and it stayed that way for weeks!!" at least 3 weeks! the oil repelled the dust! try it!
Sorry to answer this so late....just a little tip for ya... If the duct work in your home hasn't been cleaned in a while, it will be constantly blowing dust into your home. It's a job for the pros, but it's well worth it!
