A light up clock in my room made a buzz like sound and then started putting out a bad smell. Does anyone know what this smell could be?

the lights color was neon pink on the clock.

Like auxarcs says - when electronic components overheat they fizz and pop and smell bad.

I reckon something in the power supply failed and it all went to high voltage, or AC voltage and a capacitor or two kicked the bucket.

It's toast - got2get a new one..

I think it might be possessed...see your local exorcist.

I think the house is possessed. When I came home the clocks light was flipped on and then there was a thump in the bathroom...

i don't think it was paranormal. i love that field. i think it was a wire circuit or melting rubber or plastic, like sleepysleepy and auxarcs said.

maybe a wire or circuit started a mini fire and the smell is melting rubber or plastic

Sounds like something shorted out and you smelled burning wires and soldering probably.

Are you sure it was actually the clock making the bad smell.

I never thought of blaming it on the clock.

Yes the clock was moved downstairs and the smell followed.

Thanks for clearing the air. It just made me wonder; smells can be hard to track down.
