Why do those who don't believe in global warming assume that those who do are part of some sinister cabal?
Before you start posting your propaganda for or against the idea, make sure you understand the question. I am not interested in debating the validity of global warming or climate change. I just don't understand why the skeptics automatically assume that the believers are touting the idea in order to destroy the economy because they hate America and American industry. It seems like ol' Occum would say that they are simply concerned about the inhabitability of the planet. Why is that so hard for so many to believe? And why is it so easy for them to believe the conspiracy theories? The people who believed the Earth was flat weren't trying to inhibit the shipping industry, they were really afraid of falling into the abyss. And the early physicians weren't cutting open human cadavers because they were Satanists reveling in the desecration of God's creatures. They were simply trying to avoid new cadavers being made.
