Why does my hand hurt?

All of a sudden, the lunate bone area (left side near the wrist) of my left hand started to hurt. Whenever I move my hand upwards the top hurts. I am not a left, and do not use the muscles of my left hand for much but typing, holding a trumpet, and playing the flute. Please help me understand why my hand hurts and how I can get it to stop hurting (besides pain killers)

i play the trumpet to and mine hurts the same way and i think it is because you hold most of the weight of the trumpet with your left hand and in the same position for a long time

A hand can hurt if it has been receiving some strenuous works. Also pain can only appear if there was an injury sometimes back and was triggered by something. If the pain is serious, you can apply some ointment on it or visit a doctor to have it looked at.

I don't think I have done anything strenuous though. I went rockclimbing over 2 months ago, but that is it
