They won't stop?

Well, I don't believe in god and all my friends are really mean to me about it for some reason. Also, I told them not to tell anyone but they told everyone so now everyone is all like, "oh, there is the atheist that is going to hell". What should I do?

Ask them why if they are so religious and so loving of god why they don't turn the other check and treat you like god would treat you. Tell them they are not in a position to make judgement on you and if they were so holy they should have known this already.

You are required to get the same friends that spread the news to understand you and why you don't believe in God. Since they are your friends they will get to ease up the tension with the other people.

This is why (in most cases) our religious choices should something that is personal, rather than something we feel the need to comment on to the whole world. At this point if they aren't accepting or at the very least tolerant of your choices, then they aren't really your friends, and you are better off finding new ones. If they actually cared about you, they wouldn't act like that.

well even though i don't think its right for you not to believe, its your choice and clearly your so called "friends"aren't friends at all if they were to tell everyone. first confront them and ask them why they told everyone. and may i ask why you don't believe? if you don't feel comfortable telling me it's okay, but i want you to know God does do great things and he loves you even though you don't believe. God has totally changed my life. i just wanted you to know that... Good luck with you trouble hope you can fix it!:D

I advise you to get new friends.
Yes they might be worried about you, but if they can't except who you are, they aren't worth your time.

I agree with crystal, I would like to add...betraying a confidence is wrong. Not to mention they gossiped about you which is not very christian. I'm sorry this has happened to you. Ask them if you and agree to disagree.

Anyone who puts themselves in a minority position will be seen as an outsider by the majority. These people are immature based on their inability to keep a secret. Maybe those are friends you don't want to keep. Maybe they'll remember they like you regardless. Whatever, you will need to become comfortable with who you are and everything that brings.

Don't let others control your life. Forget it and move on. And count it a lesson learned.
