How is charcoal made? Not briquettes, but chunk charcoal.

Chunk charcoal is made by from wood, which is usually composed of small limbs, branches, slabs from chunk mills and scraps from milling operations. The wood is burnt slowly in an enclosed space which contains limited amounts of oxygen over a period of time.
