What should I do? Please Help!

I really like rock and heavy metal and I am learning to play guitar. for the last 2 years I've been listening to bands like ozzy Osborne, Dio, and black sabbath. I just recently learned that they believe in Satan and I don't know what to do because I am Christian but I still really like their music (not the lyrics though.) I've also flashed the "rock and roll" sign before which is actually something that tells the devil that you are letting them into the world and letting them posses you because it stands for the head of the goat. I also noticed it on a dio cd that I really like "Holy Diver." what should I do??? I like these bands but I love Jesus and I don't want to go to hell. I also want to still be able to play and listen to these songs but I don't know if I should or not... please please help me.... I'm in a tight situation. thanks.

I suggest that you stop playing or listening to that kind of music. Look for nice Christian rock songs, which I truly believe they are there, and start listening to them. You can listen to songs like Who We Are by Red, On My Own by Ashes Remain or Washed by the Water by The Heat. The songs have similar beats and I bet that's what pleases you when you listen to the particular rock songs.

God will forgive you for what you didnt know. You will not go to Hell trust me you will go to Heaven. I would stop listening to the music because they promote Satan which is not good. Dont listen to those bands look for different ones. Oh and I <3 Muse.

Whoa. I had no clue thats what all that Heavy Matal stuff meant. I am also proud to call myself a Christian and I love my Lord and God more than ANYTHING. I suggest that you start listening to Christian rock bands. RED is a heavy metal group that you might like.I hope AI helped.

They don't believe in Satan. That Satan theme in which not every album has is just to get a rise out of the media to boost their sales. If someone told a kid not to buy it,what do you think the kid was going to do?He'd buy it.I lived the Ozzy years,he's fine.

First off every Christian believes in the devil, they may not worship him, but they do believe in him. Secondly ozzy Osborn is not a satanist, as far as the others I do not know.

It's OK. God will forgive you. If it's the music that matters to you, then that's fine.

Dude all of that is bull. Everyone does the rock and roll sign. Pastors probably flash it from time to time. Relax.

As far as I am concerned, music is one thing and religion is the other. Even though some lines are against your religious viewpoint, the sound, melody, and rhythm matters a lot. Just take the essentials and stick to your point of view then listening to those bands you mentioned doesn't really matter I think.

LIsten to christian rock and roll, and don't worry about what you did in the past. God knows you didn't know, and as long as you change now tha'ts fine. Besides, Jesus saved you and forgave all your sins, so you don't have to 'work' your way into Heaven. you are saved by grace alone, and he has already forgiven you. Just don't listen to those songs anymore as they don't reflect values of Christ, and they may push you deeper into a lifestyle that is not good for a christian.

If you feel convicted to stop listening and feel guilty when you do then I think that's a sign that you want to stop. If you feel weird listening with this new info then just stop. In the meantime research some new music until you find something that suits you and your style.

I think you are worrying a little too much and getting yourself stressed. I can't comment on the music you mentioned because I've never listened to it, but I know there are lots of great bands and great music, both secular and Christian, that you can jam to. There is a lot to be said for Led Zepplin--Jimmy Page is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Check the first four albums for amazing rock music. You can't call yourself complete until you can play, "Stairway to Heaven."

No guitarist can call himself real until he can play along with Lynyrd Skynyrd on "Free Bird" on their first album.

Eric Clapton is considered by many to be the greatest guitarist ever, and his blues riffs will blow you away. Check out some of his early stuff and prepare to be amazed!

I recommend not filling your head with lyrics you don't like. If there are songs of theirs that you do agree with the lyrics, listen to those. If not, use their music and play it and write your own lyrics to it.

First let me ask you this. Is it worth it? To loose heaven over this music. Look, you play guitar, and heavy metal good thing. Why don't you just use that ability to play in church or something? I play drums and I loved drumming to rock music. Every day I would dream of drumming to a certain rock band. But, when I got a drum set for myself I never cared to play rock music anymore. I now just play Christian songs. So think about it. Is it really worth it to loose heaven over?
