heavy artillery, I mean mortars, tanks, anti-aircraft guns, everything. No, not really, here's what you should actually do: Take some masking tape [the blue stuff, because it doesn't peel paint] and use it to tape some pieces of string to your ceiling, the string should be long enough to touch your floor, then tie some very small non-lead fishing weights to the ends of the string so that they don't wobble to much. Make lots of these and tape them in a perimeter around the area that you are fortifying. Then get some ultra-fine bug netting [can get it at any store with camping supplies] and glue it in sections [super glue works best for this] between each piece of string so that it creates a wall of bug netting around the area that you want to protect, make sure to leave a big enough door. Then take some aerosol bug spray and CAREFULLY cover every inch of the net with it. this manner of anti bugging is absolutely 100% effective, but kind of involved.

To get rid of the bugs in and around your home, you should try using insect repellant aerosols. These will work against most arthropods and will remain on surfaces for quite a while. Clearing vegetation will also help as this forms part of their habitat and diet.
