Try to knock your caloric intake down to about 1500/day. Average is about 2000, but you don't wanna go much lower than 1500. You need to burn more calories than you are taking in. Following the others advice of diet and exercise, a lower caloric intake makes it much easier to tip the scale in your favor, no pun intended.
