I know a few people who still prefer to write letters. It's the difference between the physical reality of reading a printed book and the ephemeral experience of reading text on a screen. It's largely psychological.
Most of us prefer to use a telephone or email and the younger generation like to text.
The majority of people in my age bracket don't use computers and can't see any point to the Internet, although more are being won over.
Personally I prefer to communicate this way. Nothing is set in stone so I can make as many changes as I want and, if i do make a spelling mistake or a typo, I can blame it on the computer. :-)
Long ago people wrote letters. The art of writing letters and calling has long been replaced by e-mail and fax although sometimes people use phones to communicate. Technology change happens every now and then and soon we will have to accept change as it comes.
