Salt dissolving in water is a physical change. This is because s physical change does not produce any new substance, where in this case, salt dissolves completely. Wood burning is a chemical change. This is because burning produces a new substance, which is ash. Sugar dissolving in water is a physical change and baking soda and vinegar is a physical change too.
