can i laminate my medicare card

Report as

According to the administration of Medicare, the medicare cards are not supposed to be laminated. The reason for such prohibition is that lamination of the card will block the scanner magnetic strip on the back of the card.

That's according to "the administration of Medicare"? Could you elaborate, please? Medicare cards are made of plain paper stock and have neither magnetic strips nor scannable codes or bars.
Report as magnetic strip on them any longer. Someone must be talking about the olden golden days.
