No, she is a real person at his high school an he liked her so he made a song for her an give it to her. I think till this day there together.

No it was not. This song is about a girl and a boy in a long distance relationship who talk about their future plans of her finishing school and him becoming a famous guitar player. She is a real person and actually a steeplechase runner who lead singer Tom Higgenson met through a friend, and decided to do a song about her.
