You can get a non- driving ID in many states (much cheaper) with your most recent address. It will make it easier if you need to provide proof of ID - you have to do that now just to go to the hospital or Dr office now, or get stopped by law enforcement. You also need it for banking, entry to secure bldgs (court houses) even to get a loan or credit card. Either keep it or change it to non-driver ID. One caveat to keeping it as a DL is you MAY not have to take another quifying test if and when you do get a car.
You better keep your dl no matter what state you live in. It's most likely your only identification. If you were to get stopped by the police without any ID at all, it can cause a hassle for you. That's only one of many reasons having a valid ID(drivers license) is important.
