Winnie-the-Poo was known as Pooh Bear. However the stories always went by the name Winnie-the-Poo for the famous male teddy bear. Children love this teddy bear since the year 1924.

Winnie the Pooh's original name was Edward Bear. But as the story line goes Christopher chose to change his name so the stuffed bear could be himself.

When Winnie the Pooh fist came out he was originally supposed to be called Edward Bear. Him and the other characters were all stuffed animals owned by Christopher Robin. That is the son of the author who wrote the books.
