What are some tips for selling a car?

If I wanted to sell a year old car (fully paid for) that has 15,000 miles on it, then which method of selling it would be the best to get back maximum value on it? What should I know or do before trying to sell a car?

Well the first steps you should always take before selling your car is to of course clear out your car, wash it, as well as vacuum and wax it. It may also help you receive the maximum value if you fix minor problems. You should also have a mechanic look at your car before you sell it to help appraise its value and identify problems. This is help buyers who may try and convince you to lower the price claiming that their are problems. You can also check the website, the Kelley Blue Book (kbb.com), and compare with other sellers' asking prices for the same model.

The number one tip is clean it from top to bottom, and engine to bumper. Another big one is to know your market and price it competitvely. In other words, look at Craig's list and ads for similar vehicles. Oh yeah, if you look like a slob when they come to look at it, they'll think you were a slob in the car!
