To get rid of sunburn, you should first if all avoid taking hot showers as this worsens the sunburn or can also lead to damage of nerve endings. You can use a pitcher, water and bags of tea bags to get rid of sunburns. Use cold water to help cool the skin, tea bags help due to the tannic acid that helps soothe the skin. If the sunburn is too severe, you need to seek medical assistance as you may need fluid replacement.
Vinegar takes the sting away but doesn't actually speed healing. There's a product called Aquaphor that does amazing things. Great for minimizing scarring and post tattoo healing as well. Systemic hydration is crucial too.
Butter doesn't work because it's oil and that is only while it is still stinging and feeling hit because oil based products allow the skin to keep the heat. Easiest way to cure a burn is not get one use sunscreen coppertone 45 is the best. Aloe and oatmeal baths work well.
Milk. I know it sounds odd but it works. Take a bowl and pour the milk in and add ice cubes to keep the milk cold. Use wash clothes or hand towels and dip it into the bowl and place on the area(s) and it will help draw the heat out of it. the wash cloth will warm up, then repeat the process.A Pharmacist suggested this when we were on vacation. then follow it up with aloe gel. :)
aloe works really well for getting rid if it. but if you want to keep a tan they make a lotion to make sunburn turn into tan and make it go away. but i forgot whats its called but you could probably google it.
Tea. Pour a gallon in a bathtub (cool to lukewarm not hot!) and soak in it for about an hour. I once had a very bad sunburn (lobster red) though I usually do not burn, and my mother did this, and it went away instantly. The tannin in the tea will pull out the sunburn better than anything you can buy. You must do this immediately for it to work completely. If you still have some sunburn, apply aloe vera gel (make sure it has nothing else in it).
Use aloe gel. I once got sunburn and it stung but after i put on aloe gel after about 5-10 minutes my sunburn was feeling better and after a day it was starting to go away. Also avoid the sun and hot water (baths or showers) Hope I helped! BUT DO NOT PUT ON BUTTER OR ANY KIND OF OIL!!
Go to your local Wal-Mart. Ask the greeter where they hide the midgets. Find you a nice plump midget and have him hold a rubber duck (this helps with the sting) and learn to swing dance with him. Sometimes it helps if you take him to some sort of dance, like a prom or formal, to make things less awkward. Repeat this process a few times and your burn should be gone... Just a fair warning though, don't fall in love with the midget.
