If I sign a check over that I got from piad surveys online do I have to go to the bank to verify it?

As long as the check is an open check, is not an account payee type check and the words not transferable are not on its face, you will not be required to go to the bank to verify it. If the check is not of the above types, you may be required to accompany it with a photo identification of yourself.
