Is the Hunger games movie Scary or very violent?

In my opinion, it appears scary because of all the science fiction but it is not. However, it is somehow violent because of the use of weapons and some fighting scenes. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hunger_Games_(film) for more information.

No, but my daughter is 10 and not afraid of anything so I'm taking her to see it, not my 8 year old girl, it's going to be scary for children under 9.
